MakerSpace in Action

Students made geometric shapes using K'Nex and Magformers.  They also learned basic concepts of coding with Code and Go Robot Mouse kit.

Sophie Blackall won the 2016 Randolph Caldecott Medal for the Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World's Most Famous Bear.

Adam Gidwitz won the 2017 Newbery Honor Medal for The Inqisitor's Tale. He is also famous for his book, A Tale Dark and Grimm and its sequels In a Glass Grimmly and The Grimm Conclusion.

Forest Road won the Henry J. Waldinger Library Cup for the second year in a row! 

This award is given to the Valley Stream Elementary School with the most participation in the summer reading program.

Our students were recognized for their love of reading. Thank you to all the parents and families who brought their children to the library throughout the summer.
