I am Thankful for...

After listening to the story, Fall Leaves Fall by Zoe Hall, students created Fall Leaf collages.

Real autumn leaves were used to make these collages.

After listening to Apples and Pumpkins by Anne Rockwell, students created apple collages and paper Jack-O-Lanterns.

Draw, cut, then glue! 

Six lanterns were made by Mr. A's kindergarten class.

Forest Road Got the Waldinger Cup!

  

Forest Road became the winner of the Henry J. Waldinger Library Cup this year for the first time! 

This award is given to the Valley Stream School with the most participation in the summer reading program.
Our students were recognized for their love of reading. It was a job well done!!

Media Literacy Week : October 31 - November 4, 2016

The importance of media literacy is continuing to rise, especially given the increasing influence of mobile technologies, live streaming platforms and accelerated influx of tech use in the classroom.
It is vital for learners of all ages to understand how to access, analyze, evaluate, communicate, and create all forms of media.
